Cyber Security

Designed to bridge the gap between Computer Science theory and security practice, this course focuses on offensive penetration testing and the mindset required to expose vulnerabilities. Students will explore the topics of cryptography and steganography to better understand how data is hidden and secured, moving beyond theory to recognize their application in the wild. A primary goal of the course is to cultivate an awareness of what needs protection; through the study of exploits and essential cyber hygiene, students will learn to assess risk and secure their digital footprint. Additionally, students will leverage a variety of Linux-based tools to increase overall productivity and master the command-line environment.
